We must not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and to know the place for the first time
— T. S. Eliot

I have been working in audio professionally for over a decade.  Since the beginning, I have been using Pro Tools.  It's an incredible tool.  I actually really enjoy Pro Tools.  Well, I used to really enjoy Pro Tools.  Now that I've been using Reaper, it's hard for me to go back and work in a pro tools session!

The company I work at was switching from Mac to Windows, and it opened up the possibility of new DAW's (Digital Audio Workstations).  I had seen a video online by David Farmer about some of the cool features within Reaper.  So, I decided to give it a try.

Reaper definitely had some amazing features, but it seemed incredibly difficult to get up and running quickly.  It was a crazy learning curve.  Also, tutorials were all over the place on the internet.  It's almost like the program was too powerful, and I just needed a dummies guide to switching from Pro Tools to Reaper.  Frustrated with Reaper not being user friendly, I said goodbye.

A few months later I decided to give it a second chance.  I found out that Reaper has scripting languages imbedded within the program itself!  I could actually script specific things I wanted within the program.  I could design it to work exactly how I wanted it to.  This began a long journey of scouring the internet for help and learning LUA (luckily I have a CS background from College).

A year and a half later, after solving many issues and workarounds (using Reaper as my only DAW through an entire project at work), I am totally sold on Reaper.  It is the best and most creative program for sound in my opinion.  I love working in it.  But, it took about a year and a half to develop all the tools and macros and get Reaper to work in a way that suited my Pro Tools mind.

Now, I want to share this with the world.  Within minutes of installing my proprietary tools, you'll be able to work in Reaper with a lot of the same functionality as Pro Tools.  But, more importantly, you'll be able to harness all the extra abilities that Reaper has to offer!  Get ready to work in the most powerful DAW on the market!
